Apply for a Consent Futures Policy Fellowship

Okay, But This Fellowship Is Actually Fire

Applications are open, and you need to hear about this.

So you know how adults are always like "young people don't care about anything" and you're sitting there like… we literally do, we just don't get taken seriously?? Yeah. This fellowship fixes that.

The Consent Futures Policy Fellowship is a free, five-month virtual program for Ontario high school students who want to actually DO something. We're talking real skills, real connections, and a real project that goes on your résumé. No fluff. No boring lectures. Just one-hour workshops with people who actually work in policy, politics, and advocacy, showing you how change really happens.

And at the end? You present your own policy recommendations to your school board. Your ideas. Your voice. On the record. That's lowkey iconic.

Here's what you're getting into.

February is all about the fine print. Policy Review 101 is mandatory but trust, it's worth it. You can't change the rules if you don't know what they say. Learn how to read and analyze policies like a pro, then create your own review with other student leaders. First session is February 12th at 11 AM so mark it.

March is power moves. You'll learn how to run a campaign. Grassroots organizing, digital strategy, building momentum. Basically, everything you need to know to make noise and win. This one's facilitated by Progress Toronto.

April is about the power of voice. Your story hits different when you know how to tell it. Learn how to turn your experiences into messages that actually move people and how to speak up in school board meetings, with policymakers, wherever it matters.

May covers knowing your rights around sexual harassment in the workplace. Whether it's your part-time job, co-op, or internship, you deserve to know your rights. Learn how to recognize harassment, respond to it, and advocate for yourself and others.

Also in May, there's a behind-the-scenes session. A nonpartisan panel of political staff spills the beans on what it's actually like working behind the scenes in politics. Spoiler, it's not what you think. And yes, they'll tell you how to get there.

June is the main character's energy. The brand of you. Because knowing how to present yourself as a leader and changemaker? That's a skill. And you're about to have it.

Let's be real. This isn't just a cool experience. This is the kind of thing that takes university applications, scholarships, and job interviews to the next level. You'll walk away with a legit policy project you can show off forever, skills in public speaking, advocacy, collaboration, and strategic planning, mentorship from professionals in policy, education, and justice, and resources that keep making an impact long after you're done.

Quick vibe check. This fellowship is free, virtual, runs for five months from February to June, is for Ontario high school students, and is completely nonpartisan. No political agenda, just empowerment.

Check out the fellowship page for all the details and get your application in. The first session is on February 12th, so don't wait until the last minute, bestie.

Your voice shapes democracy. That's not just a tagline. It's facts.

So you coming or what?
