Indigenous Consent Futures Fellowship Summer 2026
The Indigenous Consent Futures Fellowship Summer 2026 is a two-month, remote, paid internship for current Ontario Indigenous high school student leaders ready to co-create resources for their peers.
Time: 10 hours a week for July & August
Location: anywhere in Ontario
Honorarium: $2000 honorarium
What to Expect From the Indigenous Consent Futures Summer 2026 Fellowship

Co-create resources about supporting Indigenous youth when they disclose sexual harassment or assault, including a comic book and guide for caregivers and peers.

Weekly 1.5-hour meetings with the project team and other Fellows
Group work, including weekly reviews of project materials, and providing written or verbal feedback, check-ins as needed
Inform the development, facilitation, and analysis of research with other young people

Part of the fellowship is getting to build legal education resources in partnership with Justice for Children and Youth (JFCY) to help students understand their rights and how to get support.

Develop recommendations on public policy and learn research skills with the Education for Gender Justice Research Lab, which studies the intersection of gender, violence, and education and the mobilization of education to prevent gender-based violence and discrimination. Led by Dr. Catherine Vanner, University of Windsor.

Co-create a creative campaign with award-winning illustrator Tim Singleton to shift culture around consent and gender-based violence in high schools.
